Merry New Year 🙂

Hello sweet loves!

It appears the New Year is upon us & what better way to celebrate than by listing some health, beauty & wellbeing goals for the next 365 days!

The year is full of opportunity for all of us and we need to squeeze, squeeze, squeeze every last drop of it we can!

Some personal goals include, but are not limited to, the following…

Eat more avocados and sprouts – for glowing skin and general health (avos) & bucketloads of fresh enzymes, nutrients & minerals (sprouties).

More protein! – I’d have to say that this is the part of my vegetarian diet where I fall down. I need to work on including more chick peas, lentils, tofu, nuts etc in my diet EVERY DAY and not just sporadically! I think this will be useful for getting stronger & fitter as well, which is my next goal!

Fitness – Yoga classes (trying for 2-3 x a week), dancing (1 x a week), strength work (personal trainer) & just generally being more active and doing things like swimming & bike riding!

Get the recommended 6 weekly hair appointments – I’m so bad with my hair! Poor neglected little strands that they are, they need some serious loving & this year I’m going to tend to them like a Mother to a newborn. This means less GHD as well… eeeep…we’ll see how that goes!

Regular massage – I’m going to partake in massage AT LEAST monthly, if not more (oh please!). I’ll be writing lots of review articles & talking your ear off on the benefits of massage. Absolutely adore it! I should also be taking a Swedish Massage course sometime this year, so I can provide the favour back to my loved ones 🙂

And the list goes on… there are many more things I’d like to improve on, but those are a few of my top picks!

What are your New Years Resolutions?
If there are any that we can help you out on, let me know in the comments!

Be well,

xoxo

At first I thought you meant it is recommended to have six hair appointments a week, tee hee.

I’m totally with you on the protein and the massage, which ties in with my continued pushing-myself-hard-at-the-gym. Making sure we get enough protein will give us the guns to squeeze as much out of the year as we can 😉

Haha I see how you thought that, that would be equal parts amazing and horrible I think!

You have to tell me about your gym exploits!

Tonight I ate a tofu scramble on wholemeal toast (so deliciousssss) with fresh yoghurt for dessert. PROTEIN ME UP! 🙂 I also need guns!

I went swimming the other day at Riverton Leisureplex, packed full of kiddies that are on school holidays at the moment so will be researching some more “private” public pools to head to this summer. Look out for my article soon! If anyone has any suggestions of places they know in Perth, please reply to this thread!

Looks like a great plan – i’d like to add one of my personal goals for 2010, to start or restart a hobby – something that lets you mind wonder, relax and nourish the spirit. A tip that i’d like to share is thinking back to when you were a kid – what was it that you loved doing and almost comes automatically, mine are jigsaw puzzles, painting (and trust me i’m no painter just love the feeling) and singing.

    Happy Health & Wellbeing

    Kelly,

That sounds like a great idea! It would be lovely to have a list of the more relaxing places we can go to if we aren’t lucky enough to have our own pools at home!

Eleni, that’s so cool! Thinking back to when you were a kid… I just loved playing shops. Hehe, I’d raid mums cupboard and invite my friends round and pretend we were going to the supermarket to choose what we wanted to eat that week, then go through the check out process etc! Haha, now I have worked in retail / check outs when I was younger and unfortunately it’s a lot less fun than when I was little ;(
