🍃 We are back, baby! My first article on Wellness WA in 1.5 years is now live.

It’s been a massive labour of love to get her back up and running.

After a life-threatnening medical issue a few years back (hello bilateral carotid artery dissection), being told “NO EXERCISE FOR AT LEAST A YEAR!”, taking blood thinning medication, the after effects of Covid-19 and beginning a full time WFH job - my wellness, fitness, mental state and motivation took a deep, deep dive.

It was hard to want to write about things I couldn’t participate in. It was hard to feel capable of inspiring people when I felt so uninspired myself. I felt embarassed and no longer proud of my website, when I knew I no longer looked fit and healthy - who was I to be writing about health and fitness when I was overweight, tired, and trying to heal from being sick?

Slowly but surely I crawled my way out of the trenches thanks to therapy, slowly starting yoga again, and when that felt okay, adding Park Run into the mix, doing my best to cook healthy meals at home, and rest. So, so much rest.

I now know that a lot of this was in my head. I’ve been through a lot, I nearly died. I’ve started to give myself grace, and I allowed myself to believe that I can try and inspire other people, even when I’m not perfect myself.

So 2025, I’m coming for ya. I have big plans for Wellness WA, and that starts with this sparkly new article that showcases 4 of the most dreamy wellness retreats that 2025 has to offer, each of them is a little love letter to yourself.

I’ve hand picked the retreats after a lot of deep diving and research, and come back with the best of the best from @andjelkaj, @tiff_theritualdoula, @_d_o_n_n_a_b, @myuretreats, @malika.warda__, @katie_dow_yoga

These retreats are a whisper, or even a hands thrown back screaming at the sky, reminder that you are worth taking care of, at the highest level. Always.
